Client side lag issues While there are many possible reasons for lag, the majority of reports we get turn out to be from client side issues. they can be resolved by installing performance mods such as optifine and using a direct connection to the router instead of wireless internet. More Common sources of client side lag.. Very high render distance (options > video settings) • Internet cables not firmly connected • Outdated Java version • AntiVirus causing lag spikes to Java programs • Not playing Minecraft in FULL SCREEN • Outdated operating system/drivers • Slow computer
